Tai Chi, or Tai Chi Chuan, is an ancient Chinese martial art. It is generally practiced as a low-impact physical exercise for health benefits including increased strength, improved balance, coordination, increased respiration, and lower blood pressure. Tai Chi practice can also help develop mindfulness, meditation, and spiritual growth, as well as martial technique.
Long term study of Tai Chi Chuan (also written t’ai chi ch’uan, taijiquan, or taiji, pronounced “tie-gee”) can improve your ability to handle physical and mental stress, to resolve conflict, and to more harmoniously interact with others.
